The Rise of Micro Weddings

Micro Weddings

A micro wedding, as the name suggests, typically includes a guest list of up to 50 guests—often immediate family and close friends. While these smaller wedding ceremonies have certainly been around for a while, they spiked during the pandemic beginning in early 2020 as large, traditional ceremonies began to dwindle. Couples across the country had to cancel or reschedule wedding ceremonies due to government-mandated guest limits and other pandemic-related factors.

Micro weddings and/or minimonies have benefited couples across the board. The obvious financial savings from having a smaller wedding with less expenses is the biggest advantage. Another advantage is the decrease in emotional distress that normally comes with planning a larger wedding. Micro weddings are also a great option for those who are getting married for the second or third time.
